GOING WILD AGAIN!! WATCH OUT NORFOLK HERE I COME!

Tomorrow I am going all the way to NORFOLK to the beautiful Pensthorpe Estate to open the 2011 Wild About Wensum event. I have been before and it was so much fun! This year it is the MOST exciting because it is all about Butterflies and I LOVE butterflies x 1 million, almost as much as i love Puffins!!

They are so pretty. Here is one I spotted in the ladies garden. It is called an Orange Tip

I had to hold my breath to get this close because I was so excited that I was breathing so quickly and I thought it might blow away.

It is really sad because we are seeing less and less of some types of butterflies in this country so we need to try and find out what we can do to make lots more butterfly come back.

The really great news is that some really RARE butterflies are doing really well and are being spotted in their thousands... like this one. He’s called a Marsh Fritillary.

SOME BUTTERFLY FACTS

Did you know.....

A butterfly can weigh the same as just two rose petals but fly thousands of miles.

They taste with their feet!

They can only see the colours red, green and yellow

Butterflies are related to crabs and lobsters! This is because they have skeletons on the outside of their bodies! WOW

10 YEARS TODAY

It is 10 years today since i met my lady. she had short hair like a boy and didn't have a clue what to do with me. I did all the hard work. So I am saying HELLO to my lady and my Clare, Jackson and Nice Nick too and allllllllllllllll the people who worked on The Story Makers and made it the bestset library to be in EVER.

Then of course there was Green Balloon Club, such amazing adventures with lots of LOVELY people. Except once i nearly drowned, that wasn't good, at least Katamonkey helped save me. Phewwwww.

Anyway I hope I still get to go on adventures in another 10 years time. Um er yes but I don't understand how I am still 3?

hee hee no it is actually quite sad because Green Balloon Club is all finished now and i didn’t even realise that it was all going to be over so quickly. We all had a big holiday at Yurt Camp to do out last filming and say goodbye. Oh and I was a new me yes. Don’t ask but you might be able to tell my eyes are different.

I still look sweet though don’t I!?!

Yes it was all very sad and I even cried a bit like my lady, at least she had nice people to cuddle like Lily Rose and Nature Chris.

I was sad for a long time but then it was brilliant because even though the Lady had to leave me behind in London I still managed to get to her wedding in January when she married that man Mikey and i was BRIDESMAID!!!!!!! The Lady didn’t actually KNOW I was going to be bridesmaid but she didn’t mind because Nice Nick read a Blue Cow story at the WEDDING and then I popped out as a surprise. Auntie Clare brought me with her! THANK GOODNESS! It was so funny to see the look of BIG, BIG, BIG surprise on the Lady’s face, she was the happiest Lady ever to see me.

So now that that’s out of the way and Green Balloon Club is over, I am very busy running my blog and updating my facebook page and looking for my next nature show job! JUST WHEN WILL THAT HAPPEN PLEASE???

WILD AT THE WEEKEND

On Saturday I went to the Wild About Wensum event at Pensthorpe Estate... that is where they film grown up Springwatch...IT IS SO SO BEAUTIFUL there, i saw a curlew right up close and a avercet so close i could have touched it.. it was amazing..

i also met a really nice journalist called Martin Barber...

Here is me and Martin (HE IS A REAL JOURNALIST... and he was really nice and he listened to me for a very long time and was very patient because i couldn’t stop talking the whole day!)

He asked me lots of questions and you can see me answer them HERE...

Then on Sunday I went to the RSPB Big Wild Party in Birmingham and even though it was raining CATS and DOGS, lots and lots of childrens came and i made lots of new friends!! Oh it was SO FUN.

It's been a LONG time since i have been writing because i have been busy making more and more and more nature films. We did filming water birds in X Mouth and i met some puppppppiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees and we filmed some naughty pigs. They were naughty because one of them actually ate the camera.. shhhhh don't tell the BBC. hee hee

Anyway i have some NEWS and it is even MORE fun than that because I might get to meet YOU!! Well because I am doing some festivals..... so here is where you might be able to see me and i can seeeee you if you come along...

i am very excited but very very nervous at the same time because on Friday I am going to BIRMINGHAM to be a presenter on Children in Need... IT IS LIVE TV i want to cry and shake and maybe not speak very much....mmmmmmmm it is live...mmmmm in a shopping centre..... on LIVE TV on the B B C 1... mmmm it is Children IN Need...

i think more people watch that than anything else i have ever seen on the TV in my whole life.... and i feel a bit sick...

The other day we did some singing like this "lalalalalalalala lalalalalalal it's christmas and i love it lalala lalalala lalalal"

Actually those weren't the words. they were much betterer than THAT because BILL ODDIE wrote them.. YES HE DID ACTUALLY...

And we sang them in a recording studio like PROPER POP STARS and i LOVED IT

well neither of us is ACTUALLY singing here... Bill is listening to clever PAUL who made up the nice music and told us how to sing and i was just waiting mmmmmm

PUMPKINGS AND PUMPQUEENS

It was Hallooweeeeeeen yesterday at Bill Oddie's house so i dressed up as a PumpKing. We planted a pumpking seed earlier this year and GUESS WHAT it did actually GROW. yes. and we had a big fat very small pumpking and we cut it into a scary face and i loved it because it worked really well. EVERYONE needs to grow pumpkings and pumpqueens for hallooweeeen and cut them so you can put a lights in them and then feel all happy and cosy.

it was a nice day filming because SIMON the SOUNDMAN was there and he DIDN'T make the lady wear a flump so she was a bit happier inside and that made me funnier.

Also it was nice because Ellie was there and she is SO NICE and i like to cuddle her.

We also had the best fun after filming because Bill Oddie has written us a Christmas NUMBER ONE SONG for him and me and all of the Green Balloon Club friends and Bill and I practiced it. And the clever man Paul who writes all the music for Green Balloon Club is going to make it so good that EVERYONE will want to buy it and ALL the world will be singing it at Christmas time. YES

The other day we went filming in a place called DORSET it was nice there. It smelled of the country and it made me feel like a proper Green Balloon Club member because I was outside having fun. We picked some apples and squeezed them till all the juice runned out and then we drank it. iT WAS THE YUMMEST APPLE JUICE I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY WHOLE LIFE.

I didn't know that there were so so sososos many different types of apples.

Also they had a cat called Toby he liked to sit on everything that wasn't the ground. This included our bags, blankets, camera equipment, the ladies MAT and then when we were filming the SQUEEZING the apples. Toby sat on the ladies tummy but we all just carried on as normal because no one wanted to stop squeezing and the lady loved that cat maybe a bit more than me.

It was such fun because we had a nice sound man called SIMON and he came all the way to Skomer Island with us years ago and I haven't seen him since then and it was nice. He is funny but i don't lik the microphone he gives me because it is so big and fat that the lady looks like she has an extra mole the size of a Flump on her head. AND SHE CAN'T SEE but I DON'T CARE because it means Simon can HEAR ME.

But it was also a bit sad sad sad because LOVELY Anna and Becky are leaving the filming team and I love them so so so much because they help me not be frightened of anything and they help me all the time and give me my props and carry my stuff for me. I HAVE A LOT OF STUFF. And they never ever ever NEVER complain even when the sea goes on their feet or they have to carry the ladies trolley and ten other bags all at the same time.

I am going to be sad forever that they are gone.

But it isn't because they don't love me they said it is because they need to TRY OTHER THINGS and i do understand that, a little bit.

bye bye Anna and Becky i will never forget you or ever stop loving you and hope that you come back soon.

ahhhh these belong to Betty. mmmm.

The other day we went and filmed some Scarecrows in a little place near where my Anna Weatherspooooons lives. EVERYBODY in the WHOLE village had some scary crows,i mean SCARECROWS. yes it was a little SCARE, CROW festival and they had all sorts of different types.

The lady showed this picture to her friend Mike but he didn't take the hint.

There was EVEN a SCARECROW who looked like Nature Chris and I kissed it x 1 million because he couldn't get away.

hellooo

i am feeling a bit sad for 3 reasons

1. i am not with the lady and i miss her

2. i went on a filming trip but didn't even get out my box because the silly lady was ill and didn't come*

3. i was going on a trip to some islands yippeeeee but that has been cancelled so not yipppeee anymore.

so now i am waiting and waiting for something fun to happen all over again and i am waiting till i can be with the lady and all back to normal.

Oh actually I did LOVE watching the new programme Green Balloon Club which is the most amazing thing ever and i love it in my heart.

* and i could have met some ferrets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are almost like moles... oh i hope i get to meet some moles one day

YES they are from my fairy god mummy Clare Bradley. She is actually almost my real mummy and i love her so much it makes my tummy ache because even when she is busier than she has ever been in her whole LIFE she still has found some time (and I don't know where from , maybe she has a special fairy god mummy clock) to make me some new boots! yes that's what i said MAKE me some new boots!

And I LOVE them!

So thanks Clare for always making me feel special no matter whatever happens.... i secretly think you do actually have wings!

I had the busiest week ever... it started in the best way being on CBeebies radio to promote Green Balloon Club, which starts on Friday 20th June at 5pm. The presenters were called Ruth and Terel. They were the nicest nicest people EVER and laughed and laughed at me and kept blinking and saying they couldn't believe i was there... and I WAS THERE..ON THE RADIO

I had to say this is Jelly and I love listening to CBeebies Radio on BBC Radio 7 and the lady was so excited she jumped up and down and I had to do the take again because she made too much noise! Stupid lady.

Then I went all the way to Brimingham for the FIRST EVER Climate Change Festival EVER in the whole world!!! AND I WAS PRESENTING IT with Detective Dan.. YAY for Detective Dan... and we met the Lord Mayor of Birmingham and I asked him if I could wear his chain and he said yes but he never actually took it off.... mmmm

i haven't got any pictures because the lady is in them and you can't see them because they are secret.

THEN I came home to LONDON and THEN the lady was really busy taking some pictures or something and THEN we went all the way back to Birmingham to host another part of the event but this time instead of presenting lots of children with awards we hosted a world music day. It was SO FUN...here is our stage

But best of all I got to meet some bananas.... they were fairtrade of course!

AND THEN yesterday it was the launch of Easy Peasey EcoBeebies and we did a SHOW with Justin Fletcher and the new CBeebies stars of the Green Balloon Club!

They are so so sos sos sosososoooooooosssssssssssoooooo nice and sweet...

There is little Lilly Rose... she is only 5 YEARS OLD and she is so cute you just want to pick her up and put her in your pocket but she wouldn't fit in mine because she is actually bigger than me but I love her SO much!

And the next is Ant he knows everything about minibeasts! He is very nice and kind and from up north and next there is Cat ( i've met her before somewhere!) and she has a dog called Skipper and Skipper does lots of tricks and then there is Jay and he knows all about birds and I love him and he is going to be my boyfriend! And then there is Sky who flys the big green balloon and she is even prettier than Shelly from The Story Makers!!

So as you can see I have been VERY VERY busy and I am so tired I am going to sleep for a whole week until I go and do some more filming on a riverbank and hug some trees and meet a FERRET!! I CANNOT WAIT for that!

Guess what I made a lovely new programme all about being GREEN which is EASY PEASEY for me but some people don't know how to be green and being green is NOT ABOUT THE COLOUR GREEN oh no it is about recycling and SAVING ENERGY. I met Basil Brush again and taught him all about recycling your rubbish and not keeping it in the shed which is just what that silly foxy was doing. i love him though and he was nice to me but did say that my voice was a bit squeeky which i fine because it is.

well if you haven't ever been to the Isles of Scilly then you must go NOW. it was the best place i have ever ever been to in my whole long lifetime. But it was sad because Bill Oddie couldn't come with us because HE was sad but it was actually ok because we met the nicest children's i have ever met in my whole long life time and they made the place even better than it was even though that it very hard to do.

IT IS LIKE ANOTHER COUNTRY

We had to get the train from London for FIVE HOURS and then we got the helichoppter.....

and we did some filming

but it's not ALL ABOUT THE HELICHOPPTER... soon we could see the islands... i was screaming!!

HOW AMAZING IS THAT???

I didn't know the cameraman. He is called Scottie too Hottie or Scottie Dooooooooo i don't know why he has TWO names...anyway he was very nice and introduced himself to me and told me all about what we were going to do...

We also went on an amazing boat when we were there

and we went to film SEALS and we saw HUNDREDS of them but there are only a few in this pic...

oh you can't see them.

never mind. i know you won't believe me but when we were on the boat we jumped over 10 foot waves. everybody, like the lady and lottie was screaming very loud but i was just quite like the children who loved it!!

oh i almost forgot the lovely children made some pictures here is a mermaid of the lady

we had such a nice team.. here we all are......

oh without me... i was back at my room trying to get signal on my mobile phone!!!

i hope i can go back to the Isles of Scilly one day because even thought it didn't feel like it this trip was WORK NOT A HOLIDAY!

SCOTLAND

i haven't got any pictures of Scotland and the dolphins because the stupid lady left her camera in CARDIFF. BUT it was really fun because we went on an airoplane and I got to sit in a seat next to the lady and be like a proper growN up. But it took an hour and a half past to let me get on the plane because the airoport was scared of me and my suitcase. A nice man called i don't know took me to the plane the SECRET way and then he gave me back to the lady.... she was very happy to see me and then 3 x security people had to check my suitsecase for SAFETY but i thought they wanted to check to see if Cow and my Owl were with me and they were so it was ok and i was allowed on the plane and THEN the Captain of the plane had to say YES SHE IS ALLOWED ON.

The lady said I was very SMUG when i sat on my seat. i loved it.

FLOWERS SO MANY FLOWER SIN CARDIFF

i went to Cardiff the other day to a flower show. i was helping BBC Breathing Places get lots of people to sign a piece of paper and say YEES I WILL LOOK AFTER NATURE also i saw lots of flowers. Here are some daffodils. they are so pretty.

but i like the cyrthansummumms best.....

and i also hanged out with NATURE CHRIS... yes.. he is so lovely. He has a scratchy face but a nice smile i love him.

but the scariest thing about the Cardiff flower show is that they had some people who keeped chasing the lady....she said alot PLEASE DON'T TOUCH ME and I wasn't frightened because they were only PUPPETS but the lady felt funny. Here they are

Anyway but the bestest bestest thing EVER was meeting a little girl who had different size feet... i LOVED them.. she was the nicest prettiest little girl i have ever seen ever and she had COOL feet. here they are

i liked Cardiff everyone was really really really nice.

DOLPHINS AND HELCHOPTERS

alot of the time i say I'M SO EXCITED and usually i really mean it but this time when i say it I am meaning it more than i have ever meaned it before, except for the time when i said i was excited about going to see Puffins and also the time when we might have won a BAFTA and also maybe the time when i met Sir David the Lord Attenborough but this time i am REALLY REALLY REALLY excited SO much that i keep having to do a weeeee because soooooon i am going to visit some children who are going to show me DOLPHINS...... and i didn't even know that dolphins were REAL i just thought they were magical fish that you could only see when you were dreaming. But we are going to go in an AIROPLANE and go to Scotland and we're going to go on a boat that looks like this.....

excuse me but it goes on it's SIDE..... i hope i don't fall out. And from the boat we are going to seeeeeee dolphins for real and I really won't believe it until i see them with my own eyes. so i am yes very excited the MOST this time ever.

but then NEXT we are going to go to a place called the Scillie Isles which is really funny because i think they might be a really silly place to go but i can't wait because to get there we're not going on a plane or a boat OH NO..... we're going on this...

it's called a HELLICHOPTER...well this isn't the ACTUAL one because this is a toy but we are ACTUALLY going on a REAL one and guess what is even better about it.... BILL ODDIE IS COMING TO.

i think it is going to be the best week of my whole lifetime.

i can't wait to show you all my pictures when i get back.

MANY Gnomes

it is true.

Bill Oddie has got one hundred million thousand gnomes in his garden and even thought they all seem very sweet, i didn't even speak to one of them because we were too busy filming and filming. We planted pumpkings and Bill Oddie said that I was his PumpQueen! I love Bill Oddie.

FOREST SCHOOL

i went to school in a forest yes that's right, a SCHOOL in a forest and it was such fun because we were outside ALL DAY and even thought it was FREEZING cold we learnt lots by just being in the woods and being "at one with nature" which means you make friends with everything that you can see even if it is just a stick on the ground, but that's is fine with me because I LOVE STICKS.

It is amazing how many lovely things there are in the world if you just take the time to look at them.

On friday i am filming my first ever film for Green Balloon Club a clever new CBeebies show all about nature ALL OF THE TIME (not just in Spring and Autumn).. it is very exciting because finally i get to film with some children. We are going to a house called Chiswick House or something or other whatsit and I am going to be Princess Ladeeee Jelly Bean. I CAN'T WAIT TO BE A PRINCESS.. it means i can wear a crown and looks for ants in the garden without having to take it off because I am the princess ladeeee and i can do whatever i want.. or whatever Sally says.. she is the nice lady who tells us what to do.

And on Monday i am going to somewhere else and then on Tuesday i am going to BILL ODDIES HOUSE he is going to show me his garden and he has RATS... and GNOMES and maybe i can take a gnome home or maybe i can bring him one or 2 treats for his garden like some moss or some feathers so we can make a nest for the birds or maybe we can just join in singing with the birds or maybe we can make a camp and live in the garden for the whole week... but i might get cold if we do that because it is very windy outside at the moment.

I better go and find my special warm tights. (my lovely friend Anna bought them for me she is so clever and nice and she looks after me. i love her)

i'll let you know what happens with BILL ODDIE next week.

ME and Jackson on the Weakest Link

I WASN'T the Weakest Link... we got EVERY question right apart from one about some OCEAN... the answer was the Pacific not the Atlantic... or was it the other way around?....... um i loved anne robinson she was nice. And also I loved those LepriCORNS.. they were so so sos sososososos funny!!

SO we went to Derby for another Springwatch festival and it wasn't like Birmingham at all because there wasn't one million people there... it was more like 5 and it rained. Alot.

But it was REALLY FUN... and even though the lady was a bit sick which made my voice sound VERY CROAKY she laughed A LOT.

The most she laughed was when Dan said "Does anyone know where Africa is?" and I said "Yes I know, it's in the Southern Hemisphere" and then I couldn't speak for about ten minutes.

Also we made everyones eyes stand out on stalks because Dan decided to bring his friend who I named Snakey to show everyone. He was a 12ft Burmese Python, here is a picture of us and the lady and Dan when we arrived at the hotel....

no wait... this is better.. it's a picture of us doing the show....LOOK HOW LONG HE IS.... (3 people needed to hold him!)

but the best thing which i almost forgot because it was so teeny weeney tiny was the incey wincey pincey tortoise which was a BABY one

In Derby everyone is very polite and quiet and not one person shouted JELLY JELLY JELLY JELLY JELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY which was so different to Birmingham but it was still good to have a team of people like Amanda and MIKEY (i like his face) and a man called Paul from the Natural History Unit at Bristol to help. Paul told us some VERY FUNNY stories about what it is like to make a tv programme with reptiles.. also he knows Sir David the LORD so I told him to send him a kiss from me...

anyway here is our fun TEAM DERBY....

Me and Detective Dan (he's my favorite now, i love him) went to Birmingham. We got a pink taxi, but not all the way...

And we met one hundred million children, who all wanted to say HELLO JELLY HELLO JELLY HEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO really loudly to me and I loved them all and some of them hugged me really tight and some of them kissed my face and I was a bit frightened of the ones who had paint on them because I didn't want to get painted but the lady said "don't touch her too much" and so it was ok.

AND SOME OF THEM bought me some pictures and I LOVE those too! I EVEN was given a stick which is nice because I really like sticks. alot.

Also there was a lovely lady there called AMANDA and she is going to marry Detective Dan and she looked after me and the lady so much and she is now my friend more than anyone else because she smiles at me. HELLO AMANDA.

AND a man called Adam who had funny hair that looked like a cock-a-too.. and he had a big snake. He laughed at me alot.

I loved Birmingham and soon we are going to Derby too! And I can't wait for that.

Look loook lok lokokok Looooooooooooooooook I met Bazil Brush. Yes I really did. He is actually smaller than me but I still thought he might eat me because he is a fox but he was really really nice and he didn't even make fun of me once.. he was just a very kind, nice, sweetie foxy. He even liked the lady and he said "Well Heeeeelllloooooooo" to her and then he said "Boom Boom." But I don't know what he meant. Yes.

My friend Jackson is in charge of CBeebies Springwatch now and he is filming all the important bits at the Mill where I filmed last year! It is good he is in charge because he is BIGGER than me and because um he is pink and pink is a good colour for nature so he STANDS OUT and everyone can SEE he is in charge even if he's not. Also it's good because it means I get to go all around the country being a roving reporter which is kind of a promotion.

It means I'm a little more grown up now even though I'm still 3 (years old)..........

Anyway here he is in his amazing tree house where he is being King of the World.........oh and also Head of the Nature Detectives......

and he wrote me a letter so here it is::::::::::::::::::::::::::

" Hello Jelly

I have been looking at your blog and I must say it makes me chuckle quite a lot. I like your roving around pictures - was it fun being promoted like that??

I am having fun at the Cbeebies Mill working with nature Chris for our new Springwatch series. Nature Chris is very clever and knows the right answer to lots of questions - he doesn't just guess them like what green frogs do. We have been cooking some eggs in a machine, and out came some ducklings!!!!!

We had some nice children who came to help out last week - and one of them had to blow her nose cos she had LOTS and LOTS of snot up there. i was nearly sick. And a boy who just cried and cried - but no-one had even been nasty to him. It meant we had to wait a long time before he could say his Springwatch words.

Everyone loves me being the new boss of CBeebies Springwatch, and making it all work, and there is a floating camera on a long pole that is clever the way it flies in and out and also a jerky camera that makes Damien the camera man grumpy because it is so heavy.

There is lovely Lotte but sometimes you can’t HEAR her because her voice is too sweet. And a man called Dave who is like Father Christmas with no beard who does the sound and he is a plane spotter because he likes us all to stop and listen to them when they fly over which is just PLANE boring!! ha ha. There is another Dave who runs EVERYWHERE and he is a chav because he wants a fast car not the one he has got, and Anna who gives Nice Nick cups of tea even when he doesn’t want one. And of course there is Clare who invents everything in her head and is so clever. she is putting your head in the background of my shot sometimes but i don’t know what that means.

We did a whole week of Springwatch and tomorrow there is another one. It is quite funny because every day Nice Nick gets scared at 5 o clock and runs away but he comes back the next day as well.

PUFFIN ISLAND

Finally my dream came true when I went to Skomer Island to film puffins with CBeebies Springwatch!

Mike Dilger also showed me something called a Skomer Vole and it's called that because it only lives on Skomer!! It was so fluffy and sweet!

And we also saw a Slow Worm and it's ACTUALLY not a worm but a lizard!

But the best really was the puffins... this one was right next to my head! I love their big flappy orange feet! SO SWEET.

CBeebies Springwatch won a BAFTA and here it is!!!! I got my very own! But it is VERY VERY heavy, I can't lift it, just cuddle it! He only has one eye... but I LIKE HIM!

I just found out that I might be going to Puffin Island with Bill Oddie! I can take Cow and we can see real live puffins! I hope I hear them moo!

Jackson phoned me the other day and he said he might like to write something for my blog... I wonder what he will say.. maybe something about his Nature Detectives! They are so clever those Nature Detectives.. they went Beach Combing... and you know what... you don't use an actual COMB for Beach Combing... NO it's when you look for things on the beach and collect them and put them in a bag and then look at them. It's clever!

I wish I could go beach combing! Maybe Justin or Mike Dilger can take me....

Actually i think PUFFINS live on the beach....

Well since Autumnwatch I just been hanging out really. I thought I was going to be on the Chris Moyles show on radio 1 but he hasn't called me. I'm a bit sad about that.... I would have been really good on radio 1! But, Justin Fletcher called me the other day and said we might be going on some adventures in the Spring. I'm very excited. I like Justin, he's nice. I like Spring too! It has lambs and I can grow caterpillars again.

ps. I hope we win a BAFTA... I don't really know what they are but that statue thing has a nice smiley face. I think we would be friends!
